F/S Trojans Continue to Gel.
The future looks bring for Downers North Track and Field, as the F/S crew continued to shine with some great performances from the Lockport F/S ABC invite this past Saturday. Here are some of the key performances from the weekend.
· With possibly the race of the day, Jeremy Craven had a big PR in the 3200, with a time of 10:27, which was good for a 1st place finish in the “C” heat. Jeremy sat on the leader for 6 laps, before making a big move with a half mile left to go, and taking home an easy victory.
· The Shot Put group held their own, with strong performances. Nick Stiechmann threw 38’6’’ for 7th place in the “A” flight. Vinny Donafrio marked at 35’07’’, good for 6th place in the “B” flight. And finally, Alex Graika finished 6th in the “C” flight with a mark of 35’08”.
· Nick Stiechmann, along with a strong shot put, finished 4th in the disc with a mark of 106’05”.
· Andrew Adams finished 4th in the B flight of the Triple Jump with a mark of 36’06”.
· Jordan Miller was 5th in the C flight of the Triple with a mark of 34’01”
· The 4 x 8 relay composed of Robert Riordan, Zac Christianson, Jack Diamond, and Jack McGinnis took home 3nd place with a time of 8:55.
· Mark Mathy ran on the heels of Plainfield South’s top man, just falling short by less than a second, but still turned in a great performance, of 10:11 in the 3200 A flight, good for 2nd place.
· Ryan Clevenger was 2nd in the B heat of the 3200 with a time of 10:36.
· Jack Ronan finished 6th in the C heat of the 800m, with a time of 2:20.
· Josh stern was 6th in his heat of the 400.
The milers got it done today, with two 2nd place finishes and a 5th. Robert Riordan finished 2nd with a time of 4:54 in the C heat. Zac Christiansen finished 5th in the B heat with a time of 4:58. Jack diamond was 2nd with a time of 4:50.
