                It was a beautiful day at Dellwood park on Saturday and the Trojan harriers battled courageously.  Unfortunately, it was not enough in this heavily contested race.  The Trojans finished 8^th as a team, lead by a State-Qualifying performance by Zack Smith (8^th, 16:14)!  Four of the seven Trojan runners (Zack Smith, Ben Eaton, Pat Grogan, and Brendan McBride) improved their times from the Locktoberfest Invite just one month earlier by an average of 22 seconds.  Zack was able to punch his individual ticket to the state meet on Saturday with a great effort in a super tough sectional.  The State meet at Detwieller Park in Peoria will begin at 2pm for the 3A boys.  Also, congratulations to the DGN girl’s team for qualifying for the state meet; their race will begin at 1pm.  Hope to see you there!!
