North Does Not Let Conditions Affect Performance, as they hold their own at DGS invite:

Your Downers Grove North Track and Field Team held their own in a high competitive invite at Downers South on Friday night, as they took home a 5th place finish.  North scored points all over the Track and in the Field, as they continue to put in major team efforts.  Weather conditions were tough, but the Trojans were tougher, not letting it affect their performances.

Meet Highlights:

·         Jordan Munar ran 3 events, and 5 total races, on his way to scoring 28 points for the Trojans.  His performances in the 100 and 200 were both good enough for first place.  He placed 3rd in the 400.

·         Matt Pospisil continues to knock down PR’s, with a 22.51 in the finals of the 200, good for a 4th place finish.

·         Ryan Keogal finished 8th the 400, and anchored a 4x4 team composed of Kevin Profitt, Ryan Zemel, and Tony Zea.  He closed a major gap, taking the team from 6th to 3rd place in the heat and split a 49.9 in a truly gutsy performance.

·         Kyron Belcher and Jazz Charrier made their  Varsity débuts, putting in strong performance on a 5th place 4x1, and also a strong 4x2.

·         Zach Smith ran a tough race in harsh conditions, going 4:37 in 1600m, and finishing 8th place.

·         Kevin Profitt put in another gutsy performance, running the 3200m and 4x4 relay.  He ran a great leg for the 4x4 and put in a time of 9:34 for the 3200m, good for 4th place.

·         Ben Eaton, steady as usual, placed 7th in the 3200 with a time of 9:47.

·         Nick Janiki placed 10th in the Disc with a mark of 125’ 3’’.

·         Paul Paskivicius Placed 5th in the Vault, with a mark of 12’ 0’’ ¼, on a day where many vaulters could not mark in the very tough, windy conditions.

Downers North continues to show they can hang with many of the state’s elite programs, showing their ability to compete in tough conditions, and let their strong character and completive spirit show though.
